Maintenance is required on all air monitors to insure they work properly. The most common air monitor sensor is the electro-chemical (EC) sensors, which are similar to a battery, in design and function. Depending on the sensor technology, most sensors have a life span between 1-4 years. All manufacturers imprint a date code to indicate the year the sensor was manufactured and could help us diagnose sensor failure. Based on the age and the performance of a sensor we will make a recommendation on whether the sensor should be replaced.
Detect Services maintenance service includes: sensor replacement, filter replacement, pump cleaning, and battery replacement as needed to insure the proper operation of the detector in both fixed and portable systems. A written estimate is provided with each air monitors we service that details our findings and the items that require replacement. Per OSHA regulations, OSHA 1910.146(d)(4), the employer must provide equipment that is properly maintained.
